Spanish midfielder Dani Ceballos has renewed his contract with Real Madrid extending his stay at the club till 2027 on Friday in Madrid.

The midfielder arrived at the Spanish capital in 2017 from Real Betis for a fee of €16.5m.

“Real Madrid C. F. and Dani Ceballos have agreed an extension to the player's contract, keeping him tied to the club until the 30th of June 2027,” the club said in an official statement.

“Dani Ceballos has made 120 appearances for the Real Madrid first team over the course of four seasons, during which time he has won 11 trophies: 2 European Cups, 3 Club World Cups, 2 European Super Cups, 1 LaLiga title, 1 Copa del Rey and 2 Spanish Super Cups.”

“Ceballos has also picked up 13 international caps with Spain, being crowned European champion with his country's U19 and U21 teams.”

The Spanish footballer earned his contract renewal as he was crucial in Madrid’s Copa del Rey triumph last season.

The Los Blancos were two goals down against Villarreal in a Round of 16 match on February 20. Ceballos started the comeback by assisting Vinicius Junior for the first goal and he also scored the winning goal to complete the comeback.

Earlier, Madrid announced the contract renewals of Toni Kroos and Nacho Fernandez on June 21 and 22 respectively for one more year. The next announcement could be of the midfielder Luka Modric, who according to reports has already signed a new deal for The Whites.

Real Madrid have already signed four players in the summer transfer window. Fran Garcia, Brahim Diaz, Jude Bellingham and Joselu were the first four signings done by Los Blancos.

Garcia was bought from Rayo Vallecano for €3m, Brahim returned from his three-year loan spell at AC Milan while Bellingham was bought for a record fee of €103m from the German club Borussia Dortmund and Joselu was brought on loan from Espanyol on a one-year deal.

Bellingham also became the second most expensive signing in Madrid’s history, only behind Eden Hazard who was bought for €115m from Chelsea in 2019 while Gareth Bale (€101m), Cristiano Ronaldo (€94m) and Aurelien Tchouameni (€80m) are the other most expensive players in Los Blancos’ history
